There’s more to Roald Dahl than great stories ……………..
We are pleased to announce The Roald Dahl Foundation as a partner for the Chiltern Hundred.
The Foundation will be responsible for what many exhausted cyclists will regard as the most welcome part of the day - providing refreshments at the HQ.
Known the world over as a great storyteller Roald Dahl wrote all his books for children at his home in Great Missenden. After her husband’s death Felicity Dahl set up the Roald Dahl Foundation to continue to support causes important to Roald Dahl during his lifetime.
The Roald Dahl Foundation is a UK-based registered charity offering a programme of grant-giving to charities, hospitals, and individuals in the UK. The Foundation supports many varied projects, offering practical assistance to children and families in three areas: neurology, haematology and literacy.
Since its creation in 1991, this Great Missenden-based grant-making trust has given over £5.5 million to provide practical support for children with brain, blood and literacy problems across the UK.
By participating in the event and purchasing food at the HQ, you will allow the Foundation to raise much needed funds to help continue the current level of grant making.
Pre Ride Breakfast – Post Ride Pick Me Up
Before the event they plan to top up your carbohydrate and caffeine levels with coffee or tea and croissant – a must for all those making early starts. After the ride there will be lashings of fluids, homemade rolls and homemade cakes.
