Chiltern 100 Corto Fondo Ride remains open;
Gran Fondo & Medio Fondo have sold out!
The Chiltern 100 Challenge, to be held 1st June 2008, has now sold out all individual and team entries for the Gran Fondo and Medio Fondo.
This leaves only the superb Corto Fondo route open to riders.
The Corto Fondo route heads north from Great Missenden onto the Aylesbury Plain reaching the Winchendon ridge and other ridges north of Aylesbury. The route returns to the Chilterns through Aldbury and Wiggington, before completing the 53 mile route at Great Missenden.
The ridges provide breath taking views of the Aylesbury plain, with the brooding Chilterns in the distance.
For your complete delight en route there are a number of very attractive villages, suitably equipped with watering holes.
The Corto Fondo is the Amersham RCC 50 mile challenge ride, and is offered to promote good cycling to all comers. On Sunday 10 February a cycle posse comprised of members of both promoting clubs, Amersham RCC and Verulam CC, rode the route. Commenting afterwards Chiltern Hundred organiser Eddie Spriggs said, “It’s a really cracking route, great views, lovely villages, and with more hills than I expected.”
Whilst the Corto Fondo route is charming its also challenging with a handful of good climbs, so don’t forget to bring your climbing legs.
There are a limited number of places for the Corto Fondo, so if you want to be part of the 700 rider Chiltern 100 cycle fest best you log on soonest.
Entry for the Corto Fondo can be purchased online here
